Wasp Alumni

From the first class in 2015, WASP alumni are increasing every year. Once typical high school students with only dreams of being pilot, they are now on their way to careers in aviation because of their involvement through WASP. From ground school to their first solo, these students received top-of-the-line education from current aviators in both the military and commercial sectors.

Funding

The ability to fund students, however, is entirely dependent on donations, which means class sizes are capped at about six students. Please consider donating to assist WASP in continuing to fund future classes. Alternatively, consider attending the 6th annual Golf Fundraiser on 19 June 2022, or our third annual WASP Fall Gala on October 7, 2022 at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA. (details coming soon!)

The program has carried over 40 young adults to careers and aviation focused high learning institutions. Looking at the results of training, testing, determination, and perseverance, we have quite a few ambassadors ringing the bell for our program.

Since our first graduating class in 2016 through the last class of 2022, 28 of 44 students have received a Private pilot certificate through WASP for a 64% success rate. Six additional students continue to train following past WASP scholarship funding. This past spring, we selected 11 new students with diverse backgrounds (4 women), 6 of which have soloed, and we fully expect all of them to complete.
